About This Quote

The first English translation of the book was published in 2007 by HarperCollins. The book is a collection of poems written by Pablo Neruda between 1948 and his death on 23 July 1973. The title is inspired by the Chinese poet Li Bai's famous poem "Odes of Chuang Tzu". Neruda had an obsession with Li Bai, so much so that he even wrote a poem called "Li Bai" in Spanish, published in 1972.
